Meet The Team
Louise Rive
(B.A., LL.B.)
Founder, Director, Attorney, FAMAC accredited Mediator & Parenting Co-Ordinator
Experience
Louise matriculated with distinction from Jan Van Riebeeck High in Gardens, Cape Town and holds the degrees B.A. (Law), LL.B. postgraduate from the University of Stellenbosch.
Louise is an admitted Legal Practitioner with Right of Appearance in the High Court of South Africa and holds in excess of 10 years’ post-admission experience and in excess of 13 years’ cumulative work experience within the legal fraternity. Louise is further a FAMAC accredited Mediator and Parenting Co-Ordinator.
Louise founded Rive & Associates in 2016 as a sole proprietorship and has laid the foundation for the firm to be incorporated into a company in 2020.
Louise is known by her clients as being experienced and driven to resolve matters in her clients’ best interests, in a professional manner with a personal touch.
Louise has further been invited by both RSG Radio and Bush Radio, to talk about Divorce and Family Law related matters.
Outside of her professional as a specialist family lawyer and mediator, Louise is a mother and enjoys quality time with her family and in the outdoors. She is further an avid traveller, having travelled to 11 different countries to date.
Lucy Orso
(LL.B.)
Legal Practitioner (Attorney), Conveyancer & Notary Public
Experience
Lucy joined the legal fraternity as a Paralegal in 2012. In 2016 she graduated with her LL.B. degree from the University of South Africa and attended the School for Legal Practice while completing her Articles of Clerkship.
In 2017, Lucy was admitted as a Legal Practitioner (Attorney), in 2019 as a Conveyancer and in 2025 as a Notary Public.
Combined, Lucy holds in excess of 14 years’ work experience within the legal fraternity with a special interest in property transfer and notarial work. Lucy with her years of experience, approachable and down to earth nature heads-up our Firm’s Conveyancing- and Notarial Department.
Abri De Bruyn
(B.A.Law, LL.B)
Legal Practitioner (Attorney) & LSSA LEAD accredited Civil Mediator
Experience
Abri graduated with the degrees B.A. Law- and LL.B. postgraduate from the University of Stellenbosch.
Post completion of his Articles of Clerkship and due to relocation of the Firm to another Province, Abri temporarily ventured into a Legal Consultancy role by working as an Estates Administrator for one of the top Banks in the country. With a genuine love for the practising legal profession, Abri soon returned to the practising legal profession to establish and head-up the Civil Litigation Department within a boutique Criminal Law Firm based in Bellville.
Abri holds in excess of 2 years’ post-admission experience and is further an LSSA LEAD accredited Civil Mediator with experience- and a keen interest in Domestic Violence Court-, Children’s Court- and Maintenance Court matters, as well as Regional Court Divorces.
Yamkela Mdemka
(LL.B.)
Legal Practitioner (Attorney)
Experience
Yamekla holds an LL.B. degree from the University of South Africa. Yamkela joined Rive & Associates Inc. in 2022 and completed her practical vocational training in 2024, under the guidance and direction of the firm’s Director, Louise Rive, as her registered Principal. After a brief break to Gauteng, Yamkela rejoined the firm as a Paralegal pending her admission as a Legal Practitioner (Attorney).
In and during July 2026, Yamkela was duly admitted as a practising Legal Practitioner (Attorney) and is an Associate in our Litigation Department.
Chelsea Hall
(B.A., LL.B.)
Candidate Legal Practitioner
Experience
Chelsea graduated with the degrees B.A., LL.B. from Rhodes University.
After her studies, she partook in the School for Legal Practice on a full-time basis, prior to joining Rive & Associates Inc. as a Candidate Legal Practitioner. Chelsea is passionate about Family Law and Mediation. Outside of the work environment, Chelsea enjoys outdoor activities, exploring unique coffee shops and Podcasts.
Austin Prins
(LL.B.)
Candidate Legal Practitioner
Experience
Austin graduated with an LL.B degree from the University of South Africa in 2025. In 2026, Austin completed the 400-hour Practical Vocational Training (PVT) programme at the Gawie le Roux Institute of Law and achieved some of the highest grades amongst follow attendees, securing him a spot in the Top 10.
Austin is in the process of completing his practical vocational training in 2024, under the guidance and direction of the firm’s Director, Louise Rive.
Leonore Reid
Receptionist & Legal Secretary
Experience
Leonore honed her strong administrative skills by working multiple years in the Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning, prior to relocating to Malawi where she engaged in a multitude of charitable work, before relocating back to her birth land, South Africa.
Leonore joined Rive & Associates Inc. in 2024 as Receptionist and Legal Secretary.
Outside of the work environment, Leonore is a mother of three who enjoys spending time with her children, as well as photography and baking.
Nicole Daniels
Accounts Manager
Experience
Nicole honed her legal bookkeeping- and legal accounting skills from working for previous law firms. Nicole holds extensive attention to detail and a very detailed and disciplined work ethic. Nicole further assists our firm’s FIC compliance officer.
Yolande Botha
Senior Conveyancing Secretary
Experience
Yolande holds in excess of 20’ years cumulative work experience as a Conveyancing Secretary.
Yolande being known for her strong organisational skills, attention to detail and friendly demeanour, ensures that all of Rive Law’s Conveyancing clients are kept up to date at all times on their property transfer progress. Outside of the working environment, Yolande is a mother of three, who enjoys spending time with her children and in the outdoors.
Zandri Rossouw
Accounts and General Office Administrator
Experience
Zandri is known for her attention to detail and love for numbers, and she assists with the Firm’s Bookkeeping alongside the Firm’s external accountants, and further attends to General Office Administration. Outside of the working environment, Zandri enjoys the outdoors and is a plant-nurturer.
Girschwon Titus
Office Manager & Accounts
Experience
Girschwon joined Rive & Associates in 2018 and serves as our Office Manager, he is also responsible for Accounts management, alongside the firm’s Accountant.
Having been part of team Rive Law in excess of 6 years, Girschwon is well-known at our Courts, amongst our clients and colleagues.
Outside of the work environment, Girschwon is a father and enjoys spending time with his child, golfing, and the outdoors.
